Don’t you love how patriotic decor is showing up everywhere on social media? I love going into local stores and seeing red, white, and blue, and driving down the streets seeing flags proudly being hung. I can’t wait for the 4th of July to celebrate with friends and enjoy barbecuing, and hanging out.
Thinking back in time:
The first time I can vividly remember our American Flag was in 1st grade. Our class put on a play about Valley Forge and I played the part of soldier (I will admit, I was bummed that someone else got to play Betsy Ross). The play was in the spring, and that following summer, our family took a trip around the United States. It was the bicentennial year, and we were fortunate enough to tour many sites including Valley Forge, Gettysburg, and Washington DC. It’s one thing to learn about the history of our country in school, but to visit the sights, especially after learning about them in school, made it memorable.

There are quite a few places where you can purchase patriotic decor. I love the farmhouse and rustic look, so I tend to find small decor at the following places.
- Hobby Lobby (This is by far my favorite store, and I just visited the store a few days ago on our trip. They have a ton of patriotic decor. If you don’t have a store in your city, like me, you can shop online. They have alot of options)
- Michaels
- Target
- ETSY (I am partial to Etsy, because I have a shop. There are many, many shops on this site that sell handmade items I personally sell patriotic signs, magnets, and chunky blocks for tiered trays)
- Craft Shows and Vintage Markets (Find local shows in your area and support the local crafters. You will find many unique crafts)
